Archive Issue

Archiving an issue is done when you no longer wish to see that specific issue within your project. It can be restored from the Archived Issues page and brought back into the project. Once archived, issues can then be permanently deleted. Once an issue has been deleted from the archives it’s gone forever.

Only a project creator or project admin can archive issues. This may be why you don’t see the option to archive an issue. If you need the ability to archive issues, you’ll need to contact your project creator/administrator and get them to modify your user rights.

Archiving an issue is doable across all platforms. When archiving a single issue from the web platform follow these steps:

  1. Click the Issues command in the PROJECT MENU to access the issue dashboard.
  2. Select the issue you want to archive by clicking it.
  3. Once in the issue itself click the gear icon in the top right corner and select Archive.
  4. Click the Archive button to confirm the status of the issue being changed to closed, and the issue being archived.

If you’d like to archive multiple issues from the issues dashboard page, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Issues command in the PROJECT MENU to access the issue dashboard.
  2. Hold the control (Ctrl) key and select the issues you want to archive. If the issue is selected correctly, it will turn blue and display a checkmark in the top left corner.
  3. In the top right corner click the gear icon and select Archive.
  4. Click the Archive button to confirm the status of these issues being changed to closed, and the issues themselves archived.

If the need should arise and you want to restore an issue or multiple issues, they are being kept in the Archived Issues page located in the PROJECT MENU. Only project admins/creators can restore these issues. Follow these steps restore them to your Issues list:

  1. Click Archived Issues in the PROJECT MENU.
  2. Select the issue(s) you wish to restore by clicking the check box to the left of the issue number.
  3. In the top right corner, you’ll see the Restore button appear. Click it.
  4. When the RESTORE CONFIRMATION dialog box appears select a status to be applied to the issues.
  5. Click the Restore button.

Keep in mind, only a project admin can restore archived issues.
